Elie Saab Spring/Summer 2015 Haute Couture

Avreste mai pensato che Elie Saab avrebbe usato delle stampe per la sua Haute Couture?
Sì, è successo.
Elie Saab, che è famoso per rifiutare le stampe in favore dei ricami artigianali e dei giochi di tessuti, ha usato delle stampe floreali per questa stagione. E, fatemelo dire, il risultato è un amore.
Fiori, ovviamente, per la Primavera.
"Avanguardia pura" qualcuno direbbe. No, non è avanguardia pura, ma sono certamente bellissimi.
Elie Saab è in fioritura con questi vestiti.
La palette di colori è delicata e tenue: rosa cipria, grigio, beige per dei vestiti che sono semplicemente meravigliosi.
Non è nulla di originale o inedito per Elie Saab, soprattutto nella Haute Couture, soprattutto in Primavera, ma questi abiti sono così belli che non puoi far altro che ammirarli e sperare di indossarli un giorno.
Sono i vestiti perfetti per una donna che vuole sentirsi splendida, chic, elegante ed affascinante.
Sapete una cosa? Fanculo all'originalità.
Tanto di cappello a Mr. Saab.

Yes, it's happened.
Elie Saab, who is famous for rejecting prints in favour of craftsmanship's embroideries and for playing with fabrics, used floral prints for this season. And, let me tell you this, the result is just lovely.
Flowers, of course, for Spring.
"Groundbreaking", someone would say. No, it's not groundbreaking, but it's beautiful for sure.
Elie Saab is in bloom with these dresses.
The colour palette is soft and tenuous: powder pink, beige, gray for dresses that are simply wonderful.
This is not something original or inedited for Elie Saab, especially in Haute Couture, especially for Spring, but these dresses are so beautiful you can do nothing but admire them and wish you could wear them one day.
They are the perfect dresses for women who want to feel gorgeous, chic, elegant and charming.
Guess what? Fuck originality.
Chapeau, Mr. Saab.

Christian Dior Spring/Summer 2015 Haute Couture

Raf Simons ha detto che una delle sue più grandi ispirazioni è David Bowie.
E per me dove c'è Bowie, c'è casa.
Un sacco di stilist hanno onorato il Duca Bianco (basti pensare alla meravigliosa tutina che Gaultier fece ispirandosi al personaggio di Ziggy Stardust) ma in questo caso la cosa è differente.
L'ispirazione qui non è palese, non è una collezione che urla Bowie, e secondo me non è una brutta cosa.
Possiamo notare tale ispirazione da tutine particolarmente colorate, ma nulla di più.
Il resto è un bon ton industriale/futurista.
La carina e chic ragazza di Dior è sempre la stessa: fiori, faccino carino, ben pettinata, trucco perfetto.
Ma c'è un risvolto in questa faccenda, qualcosa di più "sperimentale": gli anelli di metallo ai capelli, l'uso massivo della plastica negli stivali super aderenti e negli impermeabili in fioritura.
Sì, è una Primavera/Estate e ci tiene a sottolinearlo, ma è una collezione futuristica, piena di volumetrie rigide in giustapposizione con esili silhouettes.
E, indovinate un po', anche se non vado pazzo per Dior, questa collezione mi piace molto!

Raf Simons told one of his biggest inspirations is David Bowie.
Home is where David Bowie is, especially for me.
A lot of designers paid tribute to the Thin White Duke (the Ziggy Stardust jumpsuit by Gaultier made me puke rainbows) but in this case there's something different.
This inspiration is not something evident, it doesn't scream Bowie, and in my opinion it's a good thing.
The inspiration from Bowie can be seen in the colourful jumpsuits for example, but the rest is industrial bon ton.
The chic, pretty girl of Dior is always the same: flowers, pretty face, well combed, perfect make-up.
But there's a twist in this case: the metal rings on the hair, the massive use of plastic fabric for super tight boots and blooming raincoats are something that surprised me.
Yes, it's a Spring/Summer, but it's a futuristic season, full of rigid volumetries in juxtaposition with skin tight silhouettes.
And, guess what? Even if I don't go crazy for Dior, I really like this collection!

Atelier Versace Spring/Summer 2015

Curvy è la parola chiave per questa Haute Couture di Atelier Versace.
Donatella ha detto che è una celebrazione delle curve femminili, esaltate da particolari tagli, forme, colori e tessuti.
Giochi di trasparenza ci fanno vedere ciò che non dovremmo vedere (#freethenipple) in una maniera davvero sexy e mai volgare.
Le forme mettono in risalto il seno e i fianchi, creando una figura pericolosamente sensuale.
Le donne Versace sono sempre state dei mostri in fatto di bellezza e fascino, ed ovviamente questa collezione non si smentisce.
Dagli anni Settanta (già proposti da Tom Ford nella pret-à-porter) le zampe d'elefante sbocciano da gambe esili come dei fiori.
Maglia metallica e tessuti riflettenti sembrano brillare di luce propria.
Dee, ecco con chi abbiamo a che fare.
Ma il pezzo che ho adorato di più è stata la tuta attillata indossata da Karlie Kloss. Quel gioco sulla coppa del seno mi ricorda dolcemente Gianni.
Meno paillettes, meno ricami, ma sexy e bellissime comunque.

Donatella said it's a celebration of women's curves, exalted by particular cuts, colours, fabrics and forms.
Games of transparency let us see something we should't see (#freethenipple) in a very sexy and not vulgar way.
Forms highlight breasts and hips, creating a dangerously sensual figure.
Versace woman has always been a monster in beauty and charm, and in this collection she doesn't disprove herself at all.
With a Seventies vibe, flared pants surround thin legs like a blooming flower.
Shiny metal mesh and reflecting fabrics sparkle of their own light.
Goddesses, that's who they are.
But the piece I loved the most is the jumpsuit worn by Karlie Kloss. That game of strips on her bra cup sweetly reminds of Gianni.
Less sequins, less embroideries, but sexy and beautiful anyway.

Una collezione ispirata da astronauti e alieni.
Argento metallizzato, colori acidi, tute da lavoro, stampe techno bianche e nere.
L'arancione è il nuovo nero.
Cappotti voluminosi, divertenti felpe stampate.
Una collezione chiassosa.
Una stranezza fashion.
Una collezione fuori dal mondo.

Is there Life on Mars?
There's life on Kenzo, for sure.
A collection inspired by aliens and spacemen.
Metallic silver, acid colours, overalls, black and white techno prints.
Orange is the new black.
Voluminous coats, funny printed sweatshirts.
A noisy collection.
A Fashion Oddity.
Out of this world.

Givenchy Fall/Winter 2015 Menswear

Bocche cucite, capelli pettinati "à la FKA twigs", volti pitturati di rosso e bianco.
Questa collezione di Givenchy è un'ode al macabro, al misterioso, all'orrido ed all'occulto.
Raccapriccianti uomini vestono abiti stampati con rossi sgargianti, eleganti completi con rifiniture rosse. Teschi. Rossa la passerella, rosso il sangue.
Una collezione strana e affascinante.
E' oscura, ma per me è profondamente evocativa e meravigliosa.

Sewn mouths, FKA twigs' hair, faces painted with red and white.
This Givenchy collection is an ode to the macabre, to the mysterious, to the horrifying and to the occult.
Creepy men wear loud red printed clothes, elegant suits with red finishes. Skulls. Red catwalk, red blood.
A strange collection, strange but fascinating.
It's dark, but for me it's evocative, provocative and marvellous.
